Attention Wool Spinners and Weavers, Major News Regarding Wool Payments
On February 13, 2015, Agathon Associates confirmed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service the procedures to implement SEC. 12315 for the 2014 Farm Bill, the "Agriculture Wool Apparel Trust Fund," were nearing completion. These changes affect "make up" payments for payment "shortfalls" in prior years, major changes to the grants to wool fabric weavers, and provisions for refund of certain duties paid on imports of fiber, top, and yarn of 18.5 micron and fiber.
