Maine Dye & Textiles is a U.S. textile manufacturing business located in Saco Maine. They began operation in 2012 with yarn dyeing services for textile end producers selling into the natural fiber - artisan and craft markets. In 2016, thye expanded and added a synthetic division (package dyeing) for companies using yarn and thread for commercial production in such areas as rope and cordage. Their focus is on small to mid-scale production; environmental improvements; and the continued development of technical expertise. Currently, they operate one shift daily and a small but well-trained staff for production averaging 18 to 20 tons a month. With the substantial investments made in 2016 in new dye equipment and color technology, they are positioned to expand services, have the market demand to do so and are interested in acquiring outside investors. Expansion will involve moving to 3 shifts within 24 months and a resulting 50% increase in job growth for the area. The Dyehouse is organically certified and approved as a USDA Rural Energy project.
