U.S. Terminates Antidumping Review Relating to Woven Electric Blankets from China

On August 18, 2015, the U.S. International Trade Commission published in the Federal Register (80 FR 52500) Woven Electric Blankets From China; Termination of Five-year Review
"The Commission instituted the subject five-year review in July 2015 to determine whether revocation of the antidumping duty order on woven electric blankets from China would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury. On August 18, 2015, the Department of Commerce published notice that it was revoking the order effective August 18, 2015, because "no domestic interested party filed a notice of intent to participate in response to the Initiation Notice by the applicable deadline." (80 FR 49987, August 18, 2015). Accordingly, the subject review is terminated."

Background

On August 18, 2010, the Department published the antidumping duty order on certain woven electric blankets from China. The additional duties were substantial. In addition to the general rate of duty of 11.4% on goods classified at 6301.10.0000 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. Three Chinese producers were each assessed antidumping duty of 93.09%, there were:

  • Hung Kuo Electronics (Shenzhen) Company Limited
  • Ningbo V.K. Industry & Trading Co., Ltd.
  • Ningbo Jifa Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. or Ningbo Jinchun Electric Appliances Co., Ltd. 93.09%

Other Chinese producers were assessed antidumping duty of 174.85%
