Happy Easter and Happy Patriots' Day

Easter Sunday is the holiest day in the Christian year and this year Eastern and Western Christians celebrate Easter on the same day, Sunday, April 20th.

In preparation of the Great Feast some businesses close all or part of Good Friday, the Friday before Easter. Agathon Associates will close at noon on Friday, April 18th. Traditionally some of the textile mills in the American Southeast also close on Easter Monday, which was, in fact, a state holiday in North Carolina until 1988.

Monday, April 21st, 2011 is also Patriots’ Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, set aside as a day of observance in honor of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. Besides re-enactments of these battles, the Boston Marathon is run on this day every year and the Boston Red Sox have traditionally played a home game at Fenway Park so that people leaving the game would be able to cheer on the marathon runners. Agathon Associates will be closed on Monday in observance of Patriots' Day.
