U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit.

From August 4 – 6, President Obama will welcome leaders for across the African continent for the first-ever U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit. The Summit will advance the Administration’s  focus on trade and investment in Africa, highlight the U.S. commitment to the security and democratic development of the African continent, and foster stronger and deeper ties between the United States and Africa.

AGOA Forum

On August 4th United States Trade Representative Michael Froman will host the African Growth and Opportunity Act ("AGOA") Ministerial at the World Bank. African and U.S. trade officials will discuss the future of the AGOA program and U.S. plans to pursue renewal of AGOA legislation.
